Teachers' Union Activist Mohammad Hassanpoureh, sentenced to 50-month in prison

Mohammad Hassanpoureh, a teachers' union activist who was arrested last month in Tehran, has been sentenced by the Iranian judiciary to a total of four years and two months of imprisonment.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mohammad Hassanpour, a teacher residing in Tehran, was convicted by Branch 26 of the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Iman Afshari. He was sentenced to three years and six months for the charge of "assembly and collusion" and an additional eight months for "propaganda against the state."
It is noteworthy that two-thirds of the three-and-a-half-year sentence has been suspended.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, security forces raided Mohammad Hassanpour's residence in Tehran, arrested him, and subsequently transferred him to Evin Prison.
Mohammad Hassanpour had previously been arrested by security forces due to his union-related activities.
