Death sentence of 11 prisoners, including a woman carried out, in Yazd and Zahedan

The death sentences of seven prisoners, including five Baloch individuals, one Kurdish prisoner, and one woman, were carried out at Yazd Central Prison. Additionally, four other Baloch prisoners were executed in Zahedan Central Prison. These prisoners had previously been sentenced to death on charges including premeditated murder and drug-related offenses.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the executions took place in the prisons of Yazd and Zahedan. The identities of ten these prisoners have been confirmed for Hengaw as: Mohammad Ali Kharkouhi, 36, and a father of one, Reza Kharkouhi, 43, and a father of four, both brothers and from Zahedan, Abdolbaset Toutazehi, 38, a father of two from Goragheh, Nosratabad, Zahedan, Abdolnasser Toutazehi, 38, a father of eight from Chah Rahman, Nosratabad, Zahedan, Ne’matollah Toutazehi, 33, from Zahedan, Salah Rahimi, 39, a a father of three from Malekshah village in Sanandaj, Alireza Galeh-Bacheh, 37, a father of three from Zabol, Elyas Tardast (Shahouzehi), 22, from Zahedan, Yaqub Barahouyi-Moqaddam, a father, from Safidabeh, Nimrouz, and Mohammad-Wazir Roudini, 45, a father of four.
The identity of the executed female prisoner remains under investigation.

The Kharkouhi brothers were arrested seven years ago in a joint case in Yazd and sentenced to death for drug-related offenses, Abdolbaset, Abdolnasser, and Ne’matollah Toutazehi were arrested six years ago in a joint case and sentenced to death on similar charges. The woman prisoner was sentenced to death for premeditated murder. Salah Rahimi had been arrested and sentenced to death on drug-related charges by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary. He was also the primary caregiver for his mother with disabilities, Alireza Galeh-Bacheh and Elyas Tardast were sentenced to death four years ago, while Yaqub Barahouyi-Moqaddam and Mohammad-Wazir Roudini had been on death row for one year, all for drug-related charges.

The news of these executions has not been publicized by state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
