The death sentences of five prisoners, including two Kurds and a Lor, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Hamedan Central Prison. The executed prisoners were identified as Ali Karami Nasr, Alireza Shahbazi, Ali Abbasi, Navid Hedavand Khani and Naeem Naseri. They had been sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran on separate charges related to drug offenses and premeditated murder.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, June 2, 2025, executions were carried out for Alireza Shahbazi—a 45-year-old Kurdish man from Kuhdasht and father of two—Ali Karami Nasr, also Kurdish, and Ali Abbasi, a resident of Afsariyeh, Tehran, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.

Abbasi had been convicted of premeditated murder, while Shahbazi and Karami Nasr were sentenced to death on drug-related charges. Approximately one month prior to their execution, Shahbazi and Karami Nasr had been transferred to quarantine in preparation for their sentences. However, their executions were temporarily stayed, and they were returned to the general ward before being executed.

Simultaneously, two other prisoners—Navid Hedavand Khani, a Lor, and Naeem Naseri—were executed in Hamedan Central Prison. Both had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges and were transferred to solitary confinement on Friday, May 31, 2025, in preparation for their executions.

These executions have not been publicly announced by state media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
