Hengaw: Monday, December 30, 2024
Three prisoners—Iman Yazdani, Davood Barati, and Mohammad-Ali Soleimankhani—convicted on drug-related charges were secretly executed in Shiraz Central Prison. The executions were carried out without granting the prisoners a final visit with their families, a standard practice in such cases.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the executions occurred at dawn on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.
The executed individuals were identified as Iman Yazdani, 33 years old, from Jahrom; Davood Barati, 35 years old, from Khomein, Markazi Province; Mohammad-Ali Soleimankhani, 45 years old, also from Khomein, Markazi Province.
Iman Yazdani had been in custody for two years, while Davood Barati and Mohammad-Ali Soleimankhani had been arrested for three years in connection with a joint drug-related case. All three were subsequently sentenced to death.
These executions were carried out without notifying the prisoners’ families or granting them a final meeting, a violation of customary procedures.
As of the time of this report, state-affiliated media and judiciary-related outlets have not acknowledged or reported these executions.
