Bojnourd court sentences Hossein Vahedi to imprisonment

Hossein Vahedi (also known as Dariush Ashkani), a member of the board of directors of the North Khorasan Teachers’ Union, has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Vahedi, who serves as the inspector of the North Khorasan Teachers’ Union, was recently convicted by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Bojnourd on charges of “propaganda against the state.”

The Coordination Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations has announced that the sentence will be reviewed by the Court of Appeals following an objection filed by the teacher.
