Two Kurds in Shahin Dej arrested by security forces

Diako Mahmoudi and Soran Khezri, two Kurdish residents of Shahin Dej (Sāin Qalā), were violently arrested by security forces of Islamic Republic of Iran. Three days after their arrest, no information about their whereabouts is available.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, the two individuals were arrested by agents of the Urmia Intelligence Department in Shahin Dej and transferred to an undisclosed location.

Sources confirmed that the intelligence agents carried out the arrests without presenting a search warrant and used physical violence during the detention.

As of the time of this report, there is no detailed information about the reasons for the arrests, the charges against them, or their current location.
