Mahabad: Security forces arrest two Kurdish brothers, their whereabouts unknown

Khaled Bakri and Mohammad Bakri, two brothers from Mahabad, have been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this city, and no information about their fate has been made available so far.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024, Mohammad Bakri, a 43-year-old father of two, was arrested by the Intelligence Department.
A reliable source stated that Mohammad Bakri was detained at Azadi Crossroad in Mahabad while returning home.
It is noteworthy that earlier, on Sunday, December 29, 2024, Khaled Bakri, 46 years old and Mohammad Bakri’s older brother, was arrested by Intelligence Department forces during an ambush on the Mahabad-Sardasht road.
As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest, the charges against them, or their whereabouts.
