Seven prisoners, including three Afghans, executed in Malayer and Bandar Abbas Prisons

The death sentences of three Afghan nationals, along with Heydat Ghasemi and Shahrokh Sabahpour in Bandar Abbas Prison, as well as Mohammad Shafi Mousavi in Malayer Central Prison, were carried out. The executions of the two Afghan nationals were conducted secretly, without allowing them a final meeting with their families. Additionally, a prisoner identified as Yavar Abdali was executed the previous day in Dezful Prison.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, the executions of Heydat Ghasemi, a Baloch man from Rudan, Hormozgan Province; Shahrokh Sabahpour, a resident of Bandar Abbas; Ramzi Beigsowar, a 25-year-old Afghan national; and two other Afghans (identities under review) were carried out in Bandar Abbas Prison.
Hengaw sources reported that Ramzi Beigsowar had been sentenced to death three years ago, Heydat Ghasemi five years ago, and Shahrokh Sabahpour seven years ago on drug-related charges. The two other Afghan nationals were also sentenced to death on similar charges in a joint case.
Simultaneously, the execution of Mohammad Shafi Mousavi, a prisoner held in Malayer Central Prison in Hamedan Province, was carried out. He had been convicted of premeditated murder and sentenced to death.
On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the death sentence of Yavar Abdali, a Lur prisoner from Dezful, was carried out in Dezful Central Prison. He had been arrested three years ago on charges of premeditated murder and subsequently sentenced to death.
