Iran executes 14 prisoners in a series of executions across the country

Iranian authorities have executed 14 prisoners, including two Kurdish prisoners and two Lor prisoners, who had previously been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offences” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences of two Kurdish prisoners, Ali Kalhour and Safa Jowzipour, both from Kermanshah (Kermashan), were carried out at dawn on Monday, December 3, 2025, in Gorgan Prison in Golestan Province and Gonabad Prison in Razavi Khorasan Province. Both men had been sentenced to death on charges of “premeditated murder” and “drug-related offences.”

Mehdi Javanmardi, a Gilak prisoner from Rasht, was executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht on “drug-related offences.” On the same day, the death sentences of Pirvali Shabani and Hesam Norouzi, both convicted on “drug-related offences,” were carried out in Sabzevar Prison and Mashhad Central Prison.

In continuation of these executions, the death sentences of Amir Emami and Yousef Jamshidi (Sohrabi), a 22-year-old Baloch prisoner from Minab, were carried out in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Bandar Abbas Central Prison. Both prisoners had been arrested three years earlier on the charge of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to death.

Ali Nirang and Jalal Khorshidi, both from Yazd, were executed in Yazd Central Prison at dawn on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Nirang had been arrested around four years ago, and Khorshidi six years ago, both on “drug-related offences,” and subsequently sentenced to death.

On the same day, the death sentences of three other prisoners, Mahmoud Nouri, 40, from Semnan, Hossein Shafi’zadeh, 43, and Gholamreza Bahrami, were carried out in Semnan Central Prison. Nouri had been arrested seven years ago, Shafi’zadeh around three years ago, and Bahrami less than two years ago, all on charges of “premeditated murder,” and later sentenced to death.

Hossein Zamani and Sepehr Goodarzi, two Lor prisoners previously sentenced to death on the charge of “murder,” were executed in Dorud Prison in Lorestan Province and Bojnourd Prison in North Khorasan Province at dawn on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The execution of these prisoners has not been reported by state-run media, particularly outlets affiliated with Iran’s judiciary.
