Hengaw – Tuesday, December 9, 2025
Iran has executed 13 prisoners—identified as Houshang Jadidi, Jalil Shahsavari, Abdollah Ghasemi, Shahmorad Abdi, Kermali Farhadi, Emad Rashidi, Ghanbar Eslami, Ramazan Deldadeh, Mirzakhon Basati, Behzad Mazarzehi, Ali Barahouei, Sirous Zabihi, and Ali Doroudi—across multiple prisons. All had been convicted of either “premeditated murder” or “drug-related offenses” by the Iranian judiciary.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the death sentences of four prisoners—Houshang Jadidi, an Arab man from Ahvaz; and Jalil Shahsavari, Abdollah Ghasemi, and Shahmorad Abdi, Kurdish men from Abdanan in Ilam Province—were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, Yazd Prison, Borazjan Prison in Bushehr Province, and Ilam Prison, respectively. All four had been convicted of premeditated murder.
On the same day, the executions of Kermali Farhadi, a Lor man from Shahr-e Kord convicted of murder, as well as Emad Rashidi and Ghanbar Eslami, both convicted on drug-related charges, were carried out. Their executions took place in the prisons of Bam, Jiroft, and Khaf.
The wave of executions continued in Birjand Prison in South Khorasan Province, where four more prisoners were put to death: Ramazan Deldadeh, approximately 42, from Taybad in Razavi Khorasan; Mirzakhon Basati; Behzad Mazarzehi, 30, a Baloch resident of Mashhad and father of two; Ali Barahouei, 36, also Baloch, from Mashhad and father of five.
Deldadeh had been detained for eight years on drug-related charges and was moved to solitary confinement the day before his execution. Basati was also held on drug-related charges. Mazarzehi and Barahouei had been arrested eight years earlier in a joint case and sentenced to death for drug offenses. The executions of Deldadeh, Mazarzehi, and Barahouei were carried out in secret, without a final family visit.
Separately, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, two prisoners—Sirous Zabihi, 32, from Karaj, and Ali Sooudi, 27, from Sari—were executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht. Zabihi had been arrested three years earlier in connection with a group altercation leading to murder, while Sooudi had been detained two years ago on drug-related charges.
None of these executions have been announced by state-run media, including outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
