Updated Report: 10 Prisoners executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj

The number of executions carried out on the first day of 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, has risen to ten, following the identification of four additional prisoners: Ammar Ahmadi, Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi-Far, Saeed Kishi, and an Afghan national named Pasha. Hengaw previously reported the execution of three Kurdish prisoners, one Afghan national, and two others in the same prison.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, these executions were conducted at dawn on January 1, 2025. Mohammad Hossein Mohammadi-Far and Saeed Kishi were residents of Tehran, while Pasha, an Afghan national, and Ammar Ahmadi, a 33-year-old resident of Karaj, were also executed. Ammar Ahmadi had been arrested three years ago and sentenced to death on charges of premeditated murder.
Previously, Hengaw reported the execution of three Kurdish prisoners: Ali Vahdani, aged 43, and Hassan Vahdani, aged 37, both from Bojnourd in North Khorasan Province, and Shahram Mahdavi, aged 28, from Kermanshah. In addition to these individuals, three others were executed, including a 22-year-old named Arshia, an Afghan national named Amin, and another prisoner whose identity remains unknown.
Of the ten executions carried out, Iranian state-affiliated media and judiciary outlets have only announced three. The remaining seven executions have not been publicly acknowledged.
