Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Semnan Central Prison

The death sentence of Valiollah Kamalpour, a 40-year-old Arab prisoner from Ahvaz, was carried out in Semnan Central Prison. He had been convicted of “premeditated murder” by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution was conducted at dawn on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
As reported by Iran Human Rights Organization, Valiollah Kamalpour had been arrested five years ago on charges of murder stemming from what has been described as an “honor-related dispute.” Following his arrest, he was tried and sentenced to death.
