Five prisoners executed in prisons across Iran

Iranian authorities have carried out the executions of five prisoners, including an Arab prisoner and a Turkish prisoner. The prisoners have been identified as Seyed Akbar Bani Hashem, Jan Mohammad Saadati, Manouchehr Nikoukhalgh, Mohammad Akbarpournia, and Amir Abbas Dekavand. The men had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases involving drug-related offenses and premeditated murder.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Seyed Akbar Bani Hashem and Amir Abbas Dekavand were executed at dawn on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Both Bani Hashem and Dekavand had been sentenced to death in separate murder cases by the Iranian judiciary.

In a separate case, Manouchehr Nikoukhalgh, a 35-year-old resident of Salehabad in Torbat-e Jam County, Razavi Khorasan Province, was executed on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in Mashhad Central Prison (Vakilabad) after being convicted on drug-related charges.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Akbarpournia, a 33-year-old Turkish prisoner, was executed on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Tabriz Central Prison on drug-related charges. He had been sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court approximately three years earlier.

Additionally, Jan Mohammad Saadati, a 46-year-old Arab prisoner from Ahvaz and father of two, was executed at dawn on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Dezful Prison. He had been arrested and sentenced to death about four years ago in connection with a murder case.

None of these executions had been announced by Iranian state media or by media outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
