Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Kerman Central Prison

The death sentence of Hamid Ashna (Noutizehi), a 29-year-old Baloch prisoner from Zahedan convicted on drug-related charges, was carried out in Kerman Central Prison.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution took place at dawn on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
Hamid Ashna, a father of two from the village of Shour near Zahedan, was arrested five years ago on charges related to drug trafficking and later sentenced to death by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
On the day before his execution, he was transferred from Ward 4 of the prison to solitary confinement, where he was allowed a final visit with his family.
