Five prisoners, including three Baloch men, executed in Zahedan, Aligudarz, and Gorgan Prisons

The Islamic Republic of Iran has executed five prisoners in separate cases involving drug-related charges and premeditated murder. The executions took place in the central prisons of Zahedan, Aligudarz, and Gorgan, and included three Baluch prisoners.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early morning of Sunday, July 20, 2025, the death sentences of Abdoljalil Derakzehi, approximately 35 years old from Chah-Ahmad village in Taftan County; Nematollah Shahnavazi, a father from the city of Khash; and Dariush Shahbakhsh (Abdolnasir), 24, from Golchah village in the Kurin District of Zahedan and also a father, were carried out in Zahedan Central Prison.

Haalvsh news outlet reported that all three Baloch men had been arrested in separate cases around four years ago and sentenced to death for involvement in drug trafficking. In the days leading up to their executions, they were transferred to solitary confinement.

In a separate case, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Mohammad Ahmadkhani, a Lor prisoner previously convicted of premeditated murder, was executed in Aligudarz Central Prison, located in Lorestan Province.

Additionally, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Yaghoub Moradi, a 41-year-old father from Gorgan who had been arrested for approximately three years on drug-related charges, was executed in Gorgan Central Prison, Golestan Province.

None of these executions have been publicly announced by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
