Prisoner executed in Isfahan Central Prison

The death sentence of a Lor prisoner named Samad Najjar Asl, who had previously been convicted of “premeditated murder,” was carried out at Isfahan Central Prison (Dastgerd Prison).

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, January 9, 2025, Samad Najjar Asl, a 45-year-old father of two from Behbahan, Khuzestan Province, was executed.

Najjar Asl had been in detention for the past five years following his arrest on charges of premeditated murder and was sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

To date, the news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
