58-year-old mother of three, Azam Gerami, executed in Yasuj Central Prison

Iran has executed Azam Gerami, a 58-year-old Lor woman and mother of three, at Yasuj Central Prison after she was sentenced to death on a charge of "premeditated murder."
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Gerami was executed in the early hours of Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Yasuj Central Prison, the provincial capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.
Informed sources told Hengaw that Gerami was arrested approximately eight years ago on a murder charge and was subsequently sentenced to qisas (retributive execution) by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She spent the entire period in the women's ward of Yasuj Central Prison, enduring prolonged legal uncertainty and severe psychological hardship.
Iranian judicial authorities and state-affiliated media have not announced her execution.
