Iraj Rashidi, a man from Bukan who was arrested during the recent popular uprising and resistance, was sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment and 30 lashes by the Bukan Criminal Court.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Iraj Rashidi was sentenced to 8 months in prison and 30 lashes by Branch 101 of the Criminal Court in Bukan for the protests and popular uprising in this city.

The 23-year-old citizen was arrested and sentenced to prison while he was in the middle of his mandatory military service.

Iraj Rashidi was arrested by government forces on Monday, September 19, 2022, near his house in Bukan. After 10 days of interrogation, he was temporarily released on a bail of 100 million tomans until the end of the proceedings.

During the period of interrogation and detention, the citizen was deprived of access to a lawyer and other basic rights, including face-to-face visits.
