Ebad Habibi, a Kurdish civil activist from Sanandaj, has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in this city for planning the Newroz celebrations.
 
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 30-year-old Ebad Habibi, a Kurdish civil activist from Sanandaj, was recently sentenced to one year in prison by the first branch of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court in this city, headed by Judge Saeedi. This sentence has been suspended for three years.
 
According to an informed source, the verdict was issued on the charges of "planning for the Newroz celebrations in 2022", "participating in the funeral of Heydar Qurbani" and "using Jamaneh (A kind of Kurdish scarf) as a symbol of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran".
 

It should be noted that the hearing of Ebad Habibi was held jointly with the hearing of Moslem Saeedpour, another Kurdish civil activist from Tangisar village and a resident of Sanandaj, at the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of this city.
 

Mr. Saeedpour was also sentenced to one year of suspended imprisonment by this court on the charge of "planning for Newroz celebrations in 2022".
