Execution of Three Kurdish Prisoners in Urmia Central Prison

The death sentences of at least three Kurdish prisoners from Urmia, namely Ali Shahinnejad, Solat Tawsan, and Jan'ali Nadimi, who had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, were carried out in the central prison of this city.

According to a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Friday, December 8, 2023, the death sentences of Ali Shahinnejad (39 years old), Solat Tawsan (40 years old), and Jan'ali Nadimi (62 years old) were executed in Urmia Central Prison.

Hengaw has learned that Jan'ali Nadimi was arrested four years ago, Solat Tawsan a year ago, and Ali Shahinnejad three years ago in three separate cases, all on charges of drug-related crimes. Subsequently, they were sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of reporting this news, the execution of these three prisoners has not been officially announced in government media, particularly those affiliated with the judiciary.
