The death penalty for Eslah Allah Bakhsh, a 36-year-old Afghan inmate, was executed in Rasht central prison. He had been sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, the capital punishment of Eslah Allah Bakhsh was carried out in Rasht central prison.

According to a credible source, Eslah Allah Bakhsh was arrested two years ago for drug-related crimes and subsequently received the death penalty from the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Simultaneously, another inmate, Hamid Ebadi Nezhad, also faced execution in Rasht prison for drug-related charges, a matter reported by Hengaw yesterday.

Notably, there is a lack of news coverage on these executions from government-affiliated media outlets and those associated with the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
