The death sentence of Saeed Moradian, a Kurdish prisoner from Kangavar city in Kermanshah province, convicted for drug-related crimes, has been carried out in Hamedan Central Prison. Over the past four days, the death sentences of seven Kurdish prisoners have been executed.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Thursday, January 4, 2024, Saeed (Ali) Moradian, a young prisoner from Kangavar, was executed in the central prison of Hamedan.
The informed source reveals that this prisoner had been arrested three years ago on charges related to drug-related crimes and subsequently received a death sentence from the Hamedan Revolutionary Court.
As of the time of reporting this news, there has been no official announcement regarding the execution of Saeed Moradian in government-affiliated media, particularly those associated with the judiciary.
Based on statistics recorded in the Statistics and Documentation Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at least 12 prisoners, including seven Kurdish individuals, have been executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the first four days of 2024.
