Sajjad Malekshahi, a Kurdish resident of Qorveh in Sanandaj province, has been apprehended by security forces following the release of a video in which he urged the public to boycott the upcoming election and criticized widespread corruption within the governance of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Sajjad Malekshahi, a shopkeeper in Qorveh city, was taken into custody at his residence on Monday, February 12, 2024.

His arrest came after he released footage stating, "The very act of voting is equivalent to endorsing all the malpractices and corruption."

In the video, Malekshahi called for a boycott of the upcoming election in Iran.

He has since been relocated to an undisclosed location, and there is currently no information available regarding his whereabouts or condition.
