Vahid Asghari, a 17-year-old Turkish student from Sahand City, East Azerbaijan, has been apprehended by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the past 14 days, with no information available regarding his condition.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, despite two weeks passing since Vahid Asghari’s arrest, his family remains unaware of his legal status, whereabouts, and the conditions of his detention.

Informed sources indicate that Asghari suffers from stomach and intestinal diseases, heightening concerns for his well-being amidst continued detention and uncertainty.

Vahid Asghari was apprehended by Iranian security forces on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location. His family has had only one brief phone conversation with him since his arrest.

Notably, during the student’s arrest, Iranian security forces conducted a search of his family home and confiscated several personal items, including his mobile phone and computer.
