Kurdish Journalist Rasul Galeban arrested by Iranian Authorities

Rasul Galeban, a Kurdish journalist and media activist from Urmia, has been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the city.
According to a report received by the Hengaw human rights organization, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, Rasul Galeban, a journalist and media activist, was arrested by the "Fata" police in Urmia.
Sources indicate that Galeban's arrest was carried out by security forces following a complaint from the public prosecutor and the revolutionary court of Urmia.
Galeban is known as a media activist and the director of the licensed news site "Urumiya 24." He also serves as a media presenter.
In his latest Instagram post, Galeban shared a message on the occasion of Newroz, referring to this ancient tradition as a symbol of peace and reconciliation for all peoples.
