Aryan Yawari, a 19-year-old Kurd from Bukan and one of the detainees of the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, tragically committed suicide due to constant pressure from the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report from the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Thursday, April 19, 2024, Aryan Yawari took his own life.

He had been under continuous threat and intimidation by security institutions, particularly by Ahmad AliPour, a member of the Basij, a paramilitary volunteer group affiliated with the IRGC, in Bukan.

Aryan Yawari was arrested during the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement in December 2022 on charges of setting fire to the residence of a Basij (called Jash in Kurdish) member named Ahmad AliPour. After 70 days of detention, he was released on bail from Bukan Central Prison.
