Iran Executed five Prisoners, including a Woman

The death sentences of four prisoners, including a woman were carried out in Urmia Central Prison. These five prisoners had previously been sentenced to death for drug-related offenses.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Saturday, May 18, 2024, the death sentence of Parvin Mousavi, a 50-year-old Turkish from Maragheh, along with four Kurdish prisoners named Mansour Naseri, 45 years old from Bokan, Parviz Qasemi, 35 years old, Yousef Saeedi , 32 years old, and Ramin Lavandipour, 27 years old, all from Urmia, were carried out in Urmia Central Prison (Darya Prison).

These five prisoners, who had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases for drug-related offenses, were transferred to solitary confinement on Thursday, May 16th for the execution of their sentences.

Hengaw has learned that Mansour Naseri was arrested 5 years ago, and Ramin Lavandipour, Parvin Mousavi, Parviz Qasemi, and Yousef Saeedi were arrested 4 years ago and sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It is worth mentioning that the father of Parviz Qasemi and the brother of Ramin Lavandipour were also executed last year in Urmia Central Prison on the same charge.
