Tehran: Mowlud Safayi Arrested by Iranian Security Forces

Mowlud Safayi, a female political activist residing in Tehran, has been arrested by the Iranian security forces and transferred to Evin Prison to serve her three-year prison sentence.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, 64-year-old Mowlud Safayi, a former political prisoner living in Tehran, was arrested during a raid by security forces on her residence and transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison to serve her three-year sentence.
This individual was also arrested in June 2021 by the Iranian intelligence forces and was released from Qarchak Varamin Prison after a while on bail. She was eventually sentenced by the Tehran Islamic Revolutionary Court to four years of imprisonment on charges of "propaganda against the regime." Still, according to the law of combining sentences, the maximum enforceable sentence for her will be three years.
Mowlud Safayi is a member of the families seeking justice for the 1980s atrocities. She is the daughter of "Haji Safayi," and the wife of "Ebrahim Saeedi," who was executed by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the years 1981 and 1984 on charges of supporting the People's Mujahedin of Iran.
