Kurdish Child Kolbar Severely Wounded by Iranian Border Guards’ Direct Fire

A 15-year-old child kolbar named Mohammad Āli from Sardasht was severely injured by direct fire from border forces while carrying goods at the city’s borders. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to medical facilities in the city of Urmia.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, border guards stationed at the "Gureshir" border of Sardasht fired upon a group of kolbars. As a result of the direct shooting, 15-year-old Mohammad Āli was severely injured.

An informed source stated that Mohammad Āli was shot from behind, with the bullet passing through his liver and exiting his abdomen. Reports indicate that the child kolbar has lost his liver.

Mohammad Āli has been transferred to one of the medical centers in the city of Urmia for treatment and is currently under medical care.
