A report on the execution of a prisoner in Abhar Central Prison

A prisoner identified as Mohammad Reza Jafari, who was previously sentenced to death for drug-related charges, was executed in Abhar prison in Zanjan province in May 2024.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, the death sentence of 28-year-old Mohammad Reza Jafari was carried out in Abhar Central Prison.
According to informed sources, this prisoner was arrested in January 2022 for drug-related charges and sentenced to death by the Iranian Judiciary.
So far, the news of the execution of this prisoner has not been announced in the Iranian state media, especially the media affiliated with the judiciary.
