Sanandaj: Kurdish Environmental Activist Omid Mohammadi Arrested by Iranian Government Forces

A Kurdish environmental activist from Sanandaj, Kurdistan province, named Omid Mohammadi, has been arrested by the Iranian Government Forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Omid Mohammadi, a 30-year-old environmental activist from the village of "Negel" in the Sanandaj district, was arrested.

According to Hengaw sources, this environmental activist's arrest occurred at his workplace (a car oil change shop).

To date, no information is available about the reasons for the arrest, the charges against this citizen, or his whereabouts.
