Iranian authorities detain five Kurdish environmental activists in Javanrud

Iranian authorities have detained five Kurdish environmental activists from Javanrud. The detainees are Mahan Azami, Yahya Darvishi, Aram Saeidian, Kamran Moradi, and Mohammad Hajerani.

According to information obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on the evening of Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Javanrud.

The activists were transferred to an undisclosed location following their detention. No information has yet been released regarding the charges against them.
