Iranian government forces have detained Kurdish environmental activist Ebrahim Rahmani in Piranshahr, and his whereabouts remain unknown more than a week after his arrest.

According to information obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Rahmani was arrested on March 31, 2026, after government forces raided his home without presenting a warrant and used violence during the arrest.

Rahmani, a local environmental activist from Piranshahr, has been held for eight days with no information available about his condition or place of detention, despite repeated efforts by his family to obtain details.

A source familiar with the case said Rahmani has been denied access to a lawyer, phone calls and family visits since his arrest.

Authorities have not disclosed the reasons for his detention, the charges against him, or the agency responsible for holding him.
