Iranian Government Forces Killed Kurdish Man During Pursuit by Direct Fire

The police forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran killed a Kurdish man from Mahabad during a pursuit, shooting him in the head while he was already wounded. The identity of the deceased has been confirmed as Ahmed Terman.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at six o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Ahmed Terman, a 52-year-old resident of Mahabad, was shot dead by police. He was targeted because of his son’s involvement in an altercation with a Basij member.
Knowledgeable sources reported that Ahmed Terman was first shot in front of his home. After falling to the ground, he was fatally shot again in the head by the police.
A close associate of the victim told Hengaw: “Ahmed Terman was wanted because he was involved in a fight between one of his sons, Chia, and a Basij member named Soroush Tabanji."
