Hengaw – Friday, July 18, 2025

Three Kurdish political detainees — Armin Khodamoradi and Hekmat Saeedi from Sanandaj, and Kamran Rasouli from Baneh — have entered the third month of arbitrary detention without formal charges. In protest of their prolonged incarceration and denial of basic legal rights, the men have launched a hunger strike inside the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the hunger strike began on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. The detainees are protesting the repeated extension of their pre-trial detention orders and systematic violations of due process.

A source close to the detainees confirmed that throughout the past two months, the men have been denied access to legal representation, deprived of family visitation rights, and subjected to conditions inconsistent with both Iranian legal standards and international human rights obligations.

Armin Khodamoradi was arrested on Friday, May 16, 2025, while Hekmat Saeedi and Kamran Rasouli were detained around the same time. All three were transferred to the custody of the Intelligence Department in Sanandaj, where they remain held without clear legal justification.

Despite the extended period of detention, no formal charges have been announced.
