Yousef Ghorbani and Hamid Shami, two Kurdish men from Bukan and Piranshahr, arrested by security forces

Security forces of Islamic Republic of Iran have arrested two Kurdish men—Yousef Ghorbani from Bukan and Hamid Shami from Piranshahr—without disclosing the reasons for their arrests or their current whereabouts.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, intelligence agents raided the home of Yousef Ghorbani in Bukan and detained him without presenting a court warrant. Four days later, his fate remains unknown. Ghorbani is the primary caretaker for his mother, who is paralyzed due to a spinal cord injury.
In a separate case, on Thursday, July 10, 2025, IRGC Intelligence agents from Urmia arrested Hamid Shami at his home in Piranshahr. Shami, a father of one, was taken to an undisclosed location. According to informed sources, agents searched the home during the arrest and did not present any warrant.
No official information has been released regarding the charges against either Ghorbani or Shami, or the locations of their detention.
