Sara Jahani, a women's rights activist from Gilan, was arrested by the Iran Intelligence forces. This arrest occurred despite the postponement of her prison sentence in July.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, July 29, 2024, Sara Jahani, a pharmacist and women's rights activist, was arrested in Lahijan.

Informed sources indicate that Sara Jahani was transferred directly to Lakan Prison in Rasht without appearing at the Execution of Sentences Branch following her arrest.

On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, this women's rights activist was arrested to serve her sentence and was released on the same day by the order of the prosecutor for medical care.

Sara Jahani had previously been sentenced to six years, one month, and 17 days in prison for the charges of "assembly and collusion" and "membership in groups opposing the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Recently, in a video, she announced that she had introduced herself to Lakan Prison to serve her prison term and reaffirmed her commitment to the slogan "Woman, Life, Freedom."

This women's rights activist was arrested by the Iranian Intelligence forces in August 2023 and was temporarily released from prison on bail after some time.
