Six Turkish Activists Arrested in Tabriz

At least six Turkish activists named Mehdi Lesani, Ali Lesani, Meysam Jowlani, Behzad Dashti, Reza Vaseghi, and Pejman Salimi were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran near "Kaleybar" in East Azerbaijan province and transferred to an unknown location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2024, Iranian security forces attacked a number of Turkish activists on their way down, returning from Ghaleh Babak, arresting several individuals.

So far, the identities of six detainees named Mehdi Lesani, Ali Lesani, Meysam Jowlani, Behzad Dashti, Reza Vaseghi, and Pejman Salimi have been confirmed by Hengaw.

Hengaw sources have reported that the number of potentially detained individuals might increase.
