According to news broadcast by Iran state media, today, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, police forces raided the German language institute "Goethe," expelled the students, and sealed the center.

According to a report received by Hengaw, witnesses stated that the police insulted the students who were taking an exam and told them, "You are learning the language to leave or escape the country."

According to reports published by the media affiliated with the Iranian judiciary, educational institutions affiliated with the German government have engaged in illegal activities and extensive financial violations, leading to this action.

The Nour News Telegram channel, which reported this news, wrote that this is a "reciprocal action in response to the closure of cultural and Islamic centers in Germany."

It appears that this action was taken in response to the closure of the Islamic Center Hamburg by the German Ministry of the Interior. The Islamic Republic has a track record of retaliatory actions against German and European institutions, when faced with their stance on the Islamic Republic's terrorism.
