Iranian Judiciary Sentences Man to Sixteen Months in Prison in Mashhad

Ramin (Javad) Haeri, a prisoner held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, has been sentenced to sixteen months in prison by Branch 2 of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of Mashhad.

According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ramin (Javad) Haeri was recently sentenced to sixteen months in prison by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad on charges of "propaganda against the government" and "disturbing public opinion."

This individual was arrested on February 28, 2024, during a raid by security forces on his home. Initially, he was transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Department in Mashhad and then, on March 27, 2024, he was moved to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, where he has been held without adherence to the principle of separation of crimes, in a ward with violent crime offenders.

It is worth noting that no court session has yet been held for another case against him, in which he is accused of "insulting Khamenei."
