The death sentences of six prisoners, including four Baloch prisoners, one Sistani prisoner, and one Afghan national, who had previously been sentenced to death in separate cases related to drug charges, were carried out at the central prison of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Monday, September 9, 2024, the death sentences of four prisoners, including Saeid Hassanzehi, 30 years old, and a prisoner with the last name “Roudini,” both from Zahedan; Farzad Sancholi, 29 years old, from Zabol; and Nour Mohammad Noori (Noorzai) from Nelayat Nimruz, Afghanistan, were carried out at the central prison of Zahedan.

According to the Haal Vash news outlet, which reports on Sistan and Baluchestan, the death sentences of two other Baloch prisoners, whose identities are under investigation, were also carried out.

Saeid Hassanzehi and Nour Mohammad Noori were arrested four years ago in a joint case and were later sentenced to death. The two other prisoners were also arrested on the same charge four years ago.

These six prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement at the central prison of Zahedan yesterday and had their final visit with their families.

As of the time of this report’s publication, the news of the execution of these six prisoners has not been announced by government-affiliated media, particularly those close to the Iranian judiciary.
