Sina Aghdasi and Iraj Norasteh, Two Baha'i Adherents, Arrested by Iranian Security Forces in Tabriz

Two Baha'i adherents residing in the city of Tabriz, named Iraj Norasteh and Sina Aghdasi, have been arrested by the Iranian security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, September 16, 2024, Sina Aghdasi, a Baha'i adherent living in Tabriz, was arrested at his home by Iranian security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.
Simultaneously, Iraj Norasteh, another Baha'i adherent residing in Tabriz, was also arrested at his home by Iranian Intelligence agents.

According to informed sources, during the arrest of these two people, security forces searched their homes and confiscated their mobile phones, as well as those of their family members.

It is worth noting that Sina Aghdasi had previously been arrested due to his beliefs. Additionally, last year, Iranian security forces made at least two unsuccessful attempts to arrest Iraj Norasteh.
