Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz

The death sentence of a prisoner identified as Sardar Safarpour (Habibi), who had previously been sentenced to death by the Islamic Republic of Iran judiciary on charges of "premeditated murder," was carried out in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the death sentence of Sardar Safarpour, 36-year-old prisoner of Bakhtiari Lor descent residing in Ahvaz, was carried out in Sepidar Prison.

Sources familiar with the case reported that this prisoner had been arrested last year on charges of "premeditated murder" and sentenced to death by the judiciary.
