Turkish activist Hasan Ibrahimi Shiran sentenced to imprisonment in Ardabil

Hasan Ebrahimi Shiran, a Turkish civil and media activist from Ardabil Province, has been sentenced to imprisonment by judicial system of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report recently by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, under Judge Abolqasem Salavati, issued the three-year sentence for Ebrahimi Shiran, a civil activist from the village of Shiran in Nir County, Ardabil province.
Details about the specific charges and allegations against him remain undisclosed.
Ebrahimi Shiran, who manages the news outlet “Shiran News,” was initially arrested in February 2024 by forces from Intelligence department and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison, a facility controlled by Intelligence. He was released on bail two weeks after his arrest, pending judicial proceedings.
