The execution of Ayat Abdolfathi, an Arab prisoner was carried out in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz. He was sentenced to death for drug-related offenses.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Ayat Abdolfathi, 52, from Karun, Ahvaz, was executed in Sepidar Prison.

Informed Sources reported that Abdolfathi had been arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been announced by Iranian state media or judiciary-affiliated outlets.
