Two Prisoners executed in prisons of Iran

The death sentences of Reza Abbasi, a Gilak prisoner held in Rasht Central Prison, and Mohammad Ashouri, a Lor prisoner in Isfahan Central Prison, have been carried out.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Saturday, October 19, 2024, Reza Abbasi, a 29-year-old from Rasht in Gilan province, was executed in the city’s central prison.
Earlier, on Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024, Mohammad Ashouri, a 32-year-old from Mehrenjan village in Nurabad city, Fars province, was executed in Isfahan Central Prison.
Both prisoners had been convicted of “premeditated murder” and sentenced to death. Mohammad Ashouri had been imprisoned for six years, while Reza Abbasi had served four years before their sentences were carried out.
As of the time of this report, the executions have not been publicly announced by state-affiliated media, particularly those associated with the judiciary.
