Samad Dowlatkhah Sentenced to Prison in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province

Samad Dowlatkhah, a resident of Charam in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by the judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Dowlatkhah was sentenced in absentia on October 8, 2024, by Branch 103 of Kohgiluyeh Criminal Court 2, presided over by Judge Saeed Taheri-Nasab, on charges of “insulting sacred beliefs.” The sentence has since been officially communicated to him.
Earlier, on January 23, 2024, a separate hearing was held in Branch 101 of Charam Criminal Court 2 regarding Dowlatkhah’s charges of “propaganda against the state.”
Dowlatkhah was initially detained by security forces in Charam on October 18, 2023, but was released on bail shortly after his detention.
Dowlatkhah has previously faced judicial actions due to his activities.
