Three January protest detainees sentenced to over six years in prison

Arman Soleimani, Mansour Keybandarian Sabet, and Rahim Pourbodaghi, three Lor Bakhtiari men detained during the January protests and currently held at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, have been sentenced to a combined six years and one day in prison by the Iranian Judiciary.
According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 18 of the Khuzestan Province Court of Appeals sentenced Keybandarian Sabet and Pourbodaghi to two years in prison each on charges of “disrupting public order.” Soleimani was sentenced to two years and one day in prison.
Soleimani had previously been sentenced to two years and one day in prison by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Izeh. The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict in full.
In a separate joint case, Keybandarian Sabet and Pourbodaghi had previously been sentenced by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz to two years in prison each, a two-year travel ban, and one year of mandatory attendance at the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Office.
The three men were arrested on January 8, 2026, during the protests and transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
