Two Kurdish men in Piranshahr arrested by security forces

Two Kurdish men from Piranshahr, identified as Murad Ostovar and Ne’mat Ahmadnejad, have been arrested by security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ne’mat Ahmadnejad, a 37-year-old resident of the village of Lakban, and Murad Ostovar, a 45-year-old resident of Pasu, were taken into custody by the forces of Intelligence Department on the early hours of Monday, January 20, 2025.

Reports state that both arrests were carried out at the individuals’ homes, where family members were subjected to intimidation. The arrests were conducted without arrest warrants being presented.

As of this report, no details have been released regarding the charges against them, the reasons for their detention, or their current whereabouts.
