Ten Baháʼi women in Isfahan arrested to serve prison sentences

Ten Baháʼiwomen, identified as Roya Azadkhosh, Nasrin Khademi, Mojgan Pourshafi, Azita Rezvanikhah, Boshra Motahar, Sara Shakib, Shourangiz Bahamin, Sanaz Rasteh, Maryam Khorsandi, and Firoozeh Rasti-Nejad, who had previously been sentenced to prison terms, were arrested and transferred to prison to serve their sentences.
According to a report received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, these women, all residents of Baharestan, Isfahan, were arrested at their homes and transferred to prison to carry out their five-year prison sentences.
Last year, they were sentenced by the 37th Branch of the Isfahan Court of Appeals to five years of imprisonment each. Additionally, as part of their supplementary punishment, they were fined 50 million tomans each, banned from social services for five years, and prohibited from leaving the country for two years.
These women were initially arrested on April, 2021, in Baharestan, Isfahan, and were temporarily released on bail on May 18, 2021, pending the completion of judicial proceedings.
